Post 2

This week was a rough one, I feel like I was in sleepy land most of the week, but I managed to finish my work and that is great. I loved watching the Acton Heroes video on Paul Robshaw, I learned a valuable lesson that we always need to maintain our values, no matter what is happening around us. Paul Robshaw lost everything at one point, but he was able to rebuild and keep going. I found it interesting that his parents left him "nothing" as far as material things went, but he said his dad had given him an example and he knew how to work for things. Today a lot of people (kids mostly) don't know how to work for things, and that is really sad. They get tired easily and normal daily activities are stressful and tiring. I want my kids to feel the joy of hard work, and know how to do it. Because when we pass we can't take anything with us, except what we have learned.
I have whittled down a business plan and I am going to do coupon classes for my $100 project. It is something I know a lot about and I could help a lot of people save money.

BA 283 Post 1

This week make your first journal entry/blog post. Reflect upon the things that you are learning and experiencing so far in this course. What are things that you are looking forward to learning and experiencing? What were some specific insights that you found while reading your book and reading some of the blogs? Why do you think that keeping an Entrepreneurial Journal will be a valuable tool?

This week we found blogs about entrepreneurship and focused on our favorites. There are so many blogs out there some better then others. I really liked one called Small Biz Daily. I read an article called "9 Things Entrepreneurs Should Know" and one thing stuck out to me. She suggested starting a business based on what you know, I think this is the key to success. I have been searching for ideas for my $100 project and I think this is going to be the key to choosing the final business. When you do something you know, you don't have to learn quite as much as you would if you knew nothing about the topic.

For my $100 project I am trying to get down 5 different business ideas, so I can be ready to present to the class next week. One idea I have is to do some type of personal shopping business. I love to coupon and search for deals, I am thinking I could shop for people. I could charge a fee and then shop for them and get them deals. I haven't thought it out 100% but it's an idea. 1 down 4 to go!
